CMO Kupwara Conducts Surprise Visit to NTPHC Unsoo, Acts Tough On Absenteeism.

 In a surprise inspection aimed at assessing the functioning of rural healthcare institutions, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Dr. Masarat Iqbal, today at 10:43 AM visited the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) Unsoo in Langate and expressed concern over absenteeism and laxity in service delivery.

During the inspection, the CMO Kupwara found two doctors and several paramedical staff members absent from duty. Terming it a serious lapse in healthcare responsibility, he ordered strict disciplinary action against the absentee staff and directed the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Langate to submit a detailed report at the earliest.

Emphasising the need for uninterrupted patient care, CMO Kupwara instructed the BMO Langate  to ensure that NTPHC Unsoo functions round-the-clock. 

“The facility must remain operational 24x7 to cater to the healthcare needs of the local population. Any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated,” he said.

The CMO Kupwara also underscored the importance of hygiene and proper sanitation within the health centre premises.He directed the concerned officials to maintain cleanliness at all times and ensure a patient-friendly environment.

Furthermore, the medical and paramedical staff have been instructed to strictly adhere to the dress code and wear proper uniforms during duty hours. 

“Uniform discipline not only reflects professionalism but also builds public confidence in the system,” CMO Kupwara Dr. Masarat Iqbal added.

The surprise visit is part of a broader initiative by the district health administration to monitor service delivery, check staff attendance, and improve accountability in rural health centres.

Locals have appreciated the move and expressed hope that such inspections will bring positive reforms in the primary healthcare system across the district.
