Kupwara, July 5:
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, on Saturday visited the AAM Health & Wellness Centre (HWC) Chandigam amid the ongoing virtual assessment under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), conducted by a central team from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The assessment is part of a nationwide initiative to evaluate public health facilities on pre-defined quality benchmarks as laid out in the NQAS framework.

During the visit, Dr. Wani interacted with staff, observed the virtual engagement between national assessors and the facility team, and inspected registers, records, and patient service areas being presented via digital platforms.

He lauded the staff at HWC Chandigam for their meticulous preparation, digital readiness, and proactive participation in the assessment. He said the transition to virtual assessments demands a high degree of transparency, coordination, and professionalism, and expressed satisfaction over the centre’s performance.

The CMO assured the staff of continued administrative support and urged them to sustain their quality improvement efforts beyond the assessment process. He also highlighted the role of digital tools and e-governance in enabling real-time monitoring and strengthening healthcare delivery in remote areas.

The visit concluded with a team briefing, where Dr. Wani expressed confidence that HWC Chandigam would perform well in the evaluation and emerge as a model for other Health & Wellness Centres in the district.
